SUMMARY:Speaker Series: Wildlife Camera Project
DESCRIPTION:July’s Speaker Series: \n Marin Wildlife Camera Project \n\nMarin’s public parklands are some of the most ecologically diverse and unique landscapes in the world. They sit at the heart of an internationally recognized biodiversity hotspot\, one of 35 areas globally that are the last refuges and essential habitat for populations of native species. Marin County’s land managers needed more data about trends in biodiversity and wildlife occupancy to better understand the status of wildlife populations. So they developed a creative solution: a grid of hidden cameras in the wildlands. Join Lisette Arellano PhD\, the Community Science Program Manager for the One Tam Collaborative\, as she guides us through the findings of the Marin Wildlife Picture Index Project\, a community research project which uses motion-activated wildlife cameras to gather critical data about the wildlife in marin. \n  \nDate:  Saturday July 21st\, 2018     \nLocation: Lower Village Museum\,  China Camp State Park \nTime:  6pm -7pm \nAdmission: Members- Free \n                     Non-members-$5 \nSpace is limited and reservations are required.  To reserve\, send email to: chinacamp.programs@gmail.com\, or call (415) 456-0766.
