DESCRIPTION:THe EVENT REGISTRATION IS FULL- WAITLIST ONLY\n\n\nFlooded with Science and Seawater: \nA guided nature walk at China Camp State Park\nduring a King Tide\nDate: Sunday\, December 23rd\nStart time: 11:30 am\nEnd time: 1:30 pm\nAND\nDate: Monday\, January 21st\nStart time: 11:00 am\nEnd time: 1:00 pm\nCelebrate winter with a beautiful short hike and lots of science at China Camp State Park! Join\nscientist and educator Sarah Ferner from San Francisco Bay National Estuarine Research\nReserve for a walk near the edge of China Camp’s tidal salt marsh during one of the highest high\ntides of the year – a King Tide. Nature should put on a quietly beautiful show as the rising tide\nslowly floods the marsh. We will learn about the marsh\, scientific research occurring there\, and\nwhat king tides can teach us about sea level rise. Bring your camera to participate in California\nKing Tide Initiative’s citizen science photo monitoring. Registration required. \nCost: Free. \nWhat to be prepared for: Please dress appropriately for weather\, including walking on trails\nthat will likely be wet or muddy and standing still in windy conditions. This event is primarily\nfor adults.\nWhat to bring: Camera\, binoculars \nMeeting place: Turtleback Hill Nature Trail within China Camp State Park. Please enter the\nPark from the East (Peacock Gap/Downtown San Rafael). If N. San Pedro Rd is flooded\, the\nmeeting location will be moved east of the flooding.
