SUMMARY:FULL MOON HIKE: The Hunter's Moon
DESCRIPTION:It will be a month since the September equinox\, and the nights will have grown longer than the days\, inviting the spirits of old to revisit us. Drawing from ancient European traditions\, the annual rites of Halloween are near. \nHere at China Camp State Park\, Native American communities observed the movements and cycles of the full moon to mark the seasons\, the passage of time\, and cycles of renewal. Join us beneath the night sky as the ghostly “Hunter’s Moon” rises over the hills on the east side of San Francisco Bay\, rekindling our connection to the rhythms of the moon\, the land\, and the changing seasons. \nArrive by 4:30 p.m. Our hike will start promptly at 4:45 p.m. to catch the moonrise. Space is limited; registration is required. DESCRIPTION:Friends of China Camp\, a non-profit organization\, works hard to keep our park safe and beautiful—but we can’t do it without our dedicated team of volunteers! Join us for a fun and rewarding morning of giving back. This is a great time to meet fellow nature enthusiasts\, get some fresh air and exercise\, and maybe even pick up a new skill along the way. \nNo previous experience or long-term commitment required. Wear long pants\, a long-sleeve shirt\, and sturdy shoes (no sandals!). Bring a filled water bottle\, work gloves\, and wear sunscreen (bug spray optional).
