SUMMARY:Inside Trail Racing 1/2 Marathon\, 10K\, 1/2K
DESCRIPTION:Once a thriving Chinese settlement subsisting off of shrimp fishing\, China Camp is now a popular state park for boaters\, runners/hikers\, and mountain bikers. An extensive trail network will greet you with views of Mt. Tam\, San Pablo Bay\, and San Francisco Bay as you traverse twisting single-track trails\, climbing up and over the peak. The courses wind along thick forests and descend out into open trails on the San Pablo Bay side of the park. Each race is relatively fast\, with a nice punch of a climb beginning 1.5 miles into the course\, leaving plenty of room to push it or just hike and enjoy the wild turkeys and sounds of the woods around you. China camp is a rare locale for a running race\, so be sure not to miss this special event.

DESCRIPTION:The Ales and Trails event in Marin County has brought mountain bikers and trail enthusiasts together to support IMBA’s advocacy work in Northern California. IMBA ran the event for 11 years of fun and fundraising from 2004-2014. After taking a year off in 2015\, we are excited to announce that IMBA and Access4Bikes are partnering up and bringing Ales and Trails back in 2016! \nOn May 14\, 2016 at Miwok Meadows\, China Camp State Park in Marin County\, IMBA and Access4Bikes will bring together 400 riders\, advocates\, and industry representatives from all around the greater Bay Area and California to network and discuss issues facing the trails community. There will be rides\, demo bikes\, great food\, fine beers\, kids events\, recognition of outstanding volunteers – plus we have a couple of extra things up our sleeves!

DESCRIPTION:Join us to celebrate Earth Day\n  \nEarth Day is an annual international event that is held to demonstrate support for environmental protection sustaining a healthy\, diverse biosphere. China Camp is participating with a full day of Earth Day activities. In conjunction with this event\, California State Parks Foundation has provided grants to hosting parks to sponsor restoration and cleanup activities. China Camp is one of the hosting parks\, and in the morning\, we will be building and sealing food storage lockers for our campground. \nIn the afternoon\, Friends of China Camp will be offering family-friendly\, naturalist-led walks and activities with Earth Day themes. \n\nMORNING VOLUNTEER EVENT \nTo register for the morning volunteer event\, please go to the California State Parks Foundation website.Your registration helps us plan for supplies\, equipment and\, of course\, food. \n8:30 am Check-in time (required for the morning event only). Park near the Ranger Station\, 101 Peacock Gap Trail\, San Rafael. From Hwy 101\, take North San Pedro road exit. Drive east on North San Pedro Road for approximately 5 miles. Look for the California State Parks Foundation sign at the entrance to the Ranger Station. \n9:00 am –12:30 pm Food Locker building and sealing. \n12:30 pm – 1:00 pm Lunch for morning volunteer work crew. Bring: a smile\, some work gloves\, a full water bottle\, a hat\, sunscreen. Your clothes may get sealant on them\, so dress accordingly. \n  \n  \nAFTERNOON ACTIVITIES \n1:30 – 2:30 pm Plants have Families (and Live in Communities) Too! Like people\, plants come in families\, with many relatives\, close and distant. DESCRIPTION:We had to cancel Saturday\, January 23\, but we are rescheduling for today the 24th.  We will be repairing trail damage caused by the rain.  There’s one section of trail that requires a good deal of gravel to be mixed and to stabilize it for the rest of the winter.  This will be muddy but very important work!  We hope that some of you who were signed up for Saturday will be able to join us\, and maybe some new volunteers as well.  We need you all. \nThe times will be 9AM-noon and 1-4PM\, as before. \nBecause this is a last minute change\, you can’t sign up through CalParks as usual; please email Joyce Abrams  joyce.abrams24@gmail.com  if you plan to come\, so we can arrange for tools and food.  Thank you for being part of our trail building brigade!
