SUMMARY:Special event: scan the skies with Marin Stargazers
DESCRIPTION:Look up! When skies are clear and the sun sets\, you can’t miss this month’s dazzling array of natural night lights: a delicate crescent moon\, brilliant Venus shining on the horizon\, and mighty Jupiter glowing overhead. \nCome see these and other evening dazzlers with volunteers from Marin Stargazers. They’ll bring their telescopes so we can all enjoy the beauty\, and learn more about the wonders of the universe. As twilight deepens\, we’ll look for the Beehive Cluster—a family of stars born together. We’ll search for Cor Caroli\, a colorful double star\, and the globular cluster M3\, a dense swarm of ancient stars at the outer edge of our galaxy. From there\, we’ll push our view even farther into space\, searching for faint galaxies millions of light-years away. \nSpace is limited; registration required. DESCRIPTION:In partnership with California State Parks\, we’re excited to host a vibrant AAPI Heritage Month celebration in the historic village! The event will feature a kid-friendly craft table\, captivating lion dancers\, engaging speakers\, and booths from fellow State Parks and community organizations—including the Marin Chinese Cultural Association\, Angel Island Immigration Station Foundation\, Angel Island State Park\, Marin History Museum\, the National Estuarine Research Reserve\, and more. \nGuests can also enjoy a special historic walking tour of the village led by Milton Quan\, one of the last residents of China Camp Village—an experience you won’t want to miss. Plus\, don’t forget to enter our raffle for a chance to win some fantastic prizes! \nDate: May 3rd\, 2026 \nTime: 11am-2pm \nThis is a free event but please pay the $5 parking fee for parking in China Camp lots \nRegistration not required but encouraged \n
