Birding Walk

September 21 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am

American wigeon by Jerry Coe, FOCC volunteer

One of the season’s most exciting times is upon us—the fall migration. More than half of all North American birds migrate south between September and November, and about 250 migratory species travel through Northern California. This month we’ll look for fall arrivals, such as American widgeons, Baird’s sandpipers, yellow warblers.

Birding expert Jerry Coe will share information about China Camp’s varied habitat: open bay, tidal wetlands, grassland, and oak-and-bay forests dotted with pockets of redwoods.
