Birding walk: finding fall newcomers

November 15 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am

With a keen eye and a little patience, you can spy a remarkable number of species at China Camp, particularly in fall when migratory species come for a visit, en route to warmer climes. Some, like ruby-crowned kinglets, stick around for the winter. Our monthly bird walk will focus on the best ways for you to increase your chances of seeing—and identifying—a surprising variety of birds that visit the park this time of year. By focusing on the size, shape, and overall color and markings of a bird, plus taking note of its songs, calls, and the habitat where birds are found, you’ll greatly increase your birding skills. Come join other nature lovers for a peaceful morning walk at the park—who knows what we’ll find?
