BIRDING WALK: Get a glimpse before they head south

Kick off your weekend with an early-morning bird walk and see which of our feathered friends are still hanging around Turtle Back! The early bird gets the worm, after all, and the early birder gets a chance to catch these quick and curious avians going about their morning routines. Keep your eyes peeled for birds foraging in leafy understories, fishing for breakfast, or hunting for small rodents throughout the park.
We’ll keep an eye out for violet-green and barn swallows zipping overhead, along with some of our year-round neighborhood favorites: black phoebes, spotted towhees, and the ever-curious dark-eyed juncos.
Whether you’re a seasoned birder or just starting to tell your sparrows from your swallows, all experience levels are welcome. Bring your curiosity, grab your binoculars, and let’s see what feathered friends we can find!
