Full Moon Hike
October 20, 2021 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
October “Hunter’s Moon”
This month, we will be on the hunt…for a hunter. However the only hunting we’ll allow in our park is the hunt for extraordinary natural and celestial beauty! Join us for a special trek to seek out October’s ‘Hunter’s moonrise”. Docents Harold Hirsch and Brendan Clifford will guide us on a moderately strenuous, 4-mile round-trip hike to a breathtaking vista point where we will watch the radiant full moon cast glittering light over the bay. The “Hunter’s Moon” is named for the beginning of autumn, the time of year when Europeans traditionally hunted in preparation for the long winter. Suitable for kids ages 10+.
