Migratory Bird Walk

Bring your binoculars on this stimulating hike as we explore the lives of the migratory birds at China Camp as they make their way north for the winter. We will talk about the different species of birds that make long, medium and short migrations. Also, we will learn about how resource availability drives population abundance, feeding, and colonial behavior

Birding beginners welcome!

 

Bring a pair of binoculars, pen and notebook.  Also please bring snacks, water and good walking shoes.

 

Jerry Coe is a naturalist and mountaineering guide with over 8 years of intensive training in ornithological identification. He spent 15 years as a volunteer in the Great Basin, Nevada doing “Point Count surveys” to study health of habitats and has lead guided expeditions all over the world.
