Mothers Day Family Bird Walk

May 12, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Enjoy a day to celebrate all Mothers by joining us on a morning bird walk looking for, and learning about, our nesting neighbors. Spring is an active time of year for birds as they are nesting in trees, bushes, cavities, and open terrain. During this leisurely stroll in the park, we’ll be on the lookout for our resident and migratory nesting birds as diverse as Western Bluebirds, Tree Swallows, Wilson’s Warblers, Killdeer, California Quail and a variety of Woodpecker species. We will delve into migration, calls, songs and nesting behavior. Well known to children as “Sharon Heron”, Sharon has taught environmental education for over 20 years in Marin and internationally. www.MarinNature.com
