Special Event: Mother’s Day at the “Mother Tree”

On one of his wanderings, Friends of China Camp naturalist Harold Hirsch found a particularly beautiful—and huge—California live oak, which he has nicknamed “the Mother Tree.” As a special treat on Mother’s Day, come honor our ultimate mom, Mother Nature, with a walk to this noble oak.
Along the way, Harold will share insights about the oak-and-bay woodlands that thrive at China Camp, and why they are a critical ecosystem for so many creatures in our area. Participants are welcome to bring a short poem or piece of writing to share when we gather beneath the Mother Tree.
