SPECIAL EVENT: Night sky summer spectacular

As ancient as it is stunning and mysterious, the night sky is surely one of humanity’s oldest sources of wonder. Join Kathryn Daskal, a retired ranger for the National Park Service, to explore the resplendent night sky on a dark, moonless night. Kathryn will delve into the science of astronomy, and reflect upon diverse cultural perspectives on what we see in the night sky. No telescopes or other equipment will be needed for this stargazing experience—just bring your sharp eyes and a keen sense of wonder. The program site provides limited seating at picnic tables. Participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on the ground.
“Astronomy compels the soul to look upward and leads us from this world to another.”
