Heritage Day Dragon Dance

Heritage Day festival returns with dragons, drums, and more

Join in the fun at our annual celebration honoring the park’s multicultural heritage.

Drums thump faster than your heart. Lions and dragon dancers dip and swirl. Waves splash, children laugh, and wind fills the sails of a fishing junk just offshore. This will be the magic of Heritage Day 2022, scheduled for August 27 from 11am to 3pm.

“Heritage Day truly reflects the heart of China Camp,” says Friends of China Camp Executive Director Martin Lowenstein. “On Heritage Day, people can come—for free—to see, hear, and even taste the traditions of the people who first established China Camp back in the 1860s.”

Celebrate China Camp’s rich cultural history with lion dancers, traditional cultural and musical performances, delicious food, and crafts and activities for all ages. Events will take place at China Camp Village and the lion dance will begin at 11 a.m. sharp. Special events and activities will continue to be added to the schedule; check the Friends of China Camp events page often for updated details.

This event is made possible by Friends of China Camp, the Marin Chinese Cultural Association, and the Redwood Empire Chinese Cultural Association. For more details, contact info@friendsofchinacamp.org.
