Full Moon Hike
January 17, 2022 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Doesn’t the full moon just make you want to… howl? This month, it might be the best time to do just that, as we head out to get the first glimpse of 2022’s “Wolf Moon.” The story goes that this month’s full moon got its name because people heard more wolves howling in the dead of winter. We may not have wolves at China Camp, but we can still enjoy the beauty of their namesake moon.
Naturalist Harold Hirsch will guide us on a moderately strenuous, 4-mile round-trip hike where we will stop at a vista point and watch the radiant full moon rise over the East Bay hills and illuminate San Francisco Bay. Suitable for kids ages 10 and up.
