Speaker Series: Wheel of the Seasons 

Observe the yearly ebb and flow of our local wildlife with naturalist Sharon Barnett 

Have you witnessed Endangered Coho Salmon spawning in our local creeks? Did you know thousands of migratory Vaux’s Swifts funnel into the old chimneys at McNear’s Brickyard, right here in San Rafael? Would you like to know when the height of the mating and pupping season is for the Northern Elephant Seal? Join Naturalist and Educator, Sharon Barnett on a journey through the seasons to discover local natural phenomena.  

 Well known to children as “Sharon Heron”, Sharon has taught environmental education for over 20 years in Marin and internationally. She earned an MS Education degree at Dominican University; she is the lower school Science Specialist at Marin Country Day School and the Hiking Marin Trails instructor for College of Marin.

Location: China Camp Village Museum, China Camp State Park
