SPECIAL EVENT: Celebrate California Biodiversity Week

 Have you ever been out on a trail, taken in the view, and wondered what critters might be hiding nearby, what plants are growing around you, or who’s flying, crawling, or swimming through the habitat? Join Friends of China Camp natural

history volunteers for a family-friendly nature ramble and lively conversation about the many habitats you can see, hear, and even smell! Bring your nature trivia questions, curiosity, and cameras, scopes, binoculars, or sketch pads. You never know what we’ll discover along the way! This is part of a statewide initiative. Date: Saturday, September 5

Time: 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Location: Turtle Back Trail trailhead

Difficulty: easy; mostly flat ¾-mile ADA-compliant trail 

Cost: free for FOCC members, $5 donation appreciated for non-members 

Ages: 7 and up; under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult
