New Years Day Sunrise Hike

At China Camp, we are big fans of the indescribable beauty of sunrises over the San Pablo Bay. That is why we have an ongoing tradition to welcome and honor the first golden light of the year with our New Year’s day sunrise hike. During this 4-mile round trip hike lead by naturalist Harold Hirsch, we will ascend to China Camp’s premier vista point to ring in the New Year with light and good wishes.
Bring a short message or poem to share if you wish for the new year. Dress for the brisk early morning temperatures, wear sturdy shoes (the trails may be muddy), and pack your trusty flashlights loaded with fresh batteries. Refreshments will be served afterwards. Strong winds or rain will cancel. We depart at 6:15 a.m. sharp.
